What to Expect

Before booking your first therapy session, we ask potential clients to first give us a call for a brief 15-minute consultation or schedule a time to chat. Call 701-957-9822 to speak with a licensed therapist today!

Once we've established a connection, we'll move forward to schedule your initial intake session, where we can delve deeper into your concerns and goals. I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Let's Begin

Your First Session

The Initial Intake Session is a comprehensive 90-minute session where we’ll gather all the important information to get you started on your therapeutic journey. During this session, you’ll receive personalized support as we begin to explore your background and establish your goals for counseling.

Intake Forms

To provide the best care, we’ll have you complete a formal intake form, which covers your medical history, family background, social history, and any previous counseling experiences. This can be completed either through a secure portal before our session or in person and will be reviewed during our intake session.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Informed Consent – We’ll review our commitment to confidentiality, your rights, and the nature of the therapy relationship.

  • Good Faith Estimate – This document outlines expected treatment costs, ensuring transparency from the start (if required).

  • Release of Information (ROI) – We may discuss any necessary authorizations for sharing information with other providers if helpful for your treatment.

Determining Your Path: Session Length & Frequency

In this first session, we’ll take time to discuss what brings you to therapy and outline your counseling goals. Together, we’ll explore how often you’d like to meet and which session length best suits your needs. Everyone is different. Some opt for weekly, bi-weekly or monthly and we offer 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions (As well as group therapy and occasional intensives).
